This is the flag of Finland, a nation known, to me, from the game "My Summer Car", being filled with a massive amount of lakes, and whipping the Soviet Union in the Winter War. Finland is a beautiful country. They are commonly referred to as "Scandinavian". This is not true. Finland, when included with Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, make up the Nordic countries. Removing Iceland turns them into the more uncommon term of Fennoscandia. Geography aside, the flag of Finland looks much like if not almost identical, in all but color, to neighboring Sweden. Finland's flag, referred to as siniristilippu in Finnish, has a Nordic cross representing Christianity. Suprisingly, like Estonia's flag, their colors represent their landscape. The blue signifies the thousands of lakes in Finland, and the Finnish blue skies, while the white symbolizes their snowy winters.
