Designed in 1932 by Ilmailvoimein Lentokonetehdas (Air Force Aircraft Factory) as a two-seat general purpose introductory basic trainer. Over the past two decades of service it has seen some upgrades, including an enclosed canopy, redesigned fuselage, a higher rated engine and a three-blade propeller vs its original twin blade prop. It is sluggish and difficult to fly and land - a perfect aircraft to train future pilots. Its narrow track landing gear makes it a sincere challenge to land and has resulted in numerous accidents, though thankfully few have been fatal.
