LAM Fighter (50 pts or less challenge)
This is the Light Avanced Multirole (LAM) fighter. It’s fast, nimble and easy to maintain. The current pre-series version features a minimal weapons loadout and basic equipment due to … budget limitations. ;-) Its stacked twin-afterburning engines with the characteristic air intake on top of the fuselage, combined with the delta canard wing configuration give this little fighter a unique look and unparalleled speed as well as high AOA and high-g maneuverability.
Armament:
- 27mm revolver cannon with 830 rds of HEI ammunition
- 2 Medium-range radar-guided air-to-air missiles
- expendables: chaff & flare dispensers
Action groups:
AG1: Formation lights
AG2: activate HUD (only rudimentary, couldn’t get the damn code to work properly because I’m a lazy idiot)
AG3: master arm
AG8: close canopy (default is open, do yourself a favor and close it before takeoff!)
Normal flight controls. Be sure to make liberal use of the air brakes when rolling into your landing approach. LAM goes zzzooom.
Credit for 1-part HUD: @PlanariaLab (I promise I’ll make it work at some point)
Enjoy!

@WolfHunter9111 Ha! Now I see it too. Totally!

Welcome, good luck@Krikkit42
@WinsWings Thanks, I appreciate it! Just uploaded my little thingy.
No worries @krikkit42. I got kids too. Upload your plane
Sweet thanks, and again, GREAT JOB! @Krikkit42
@TDevil36 Hey, thanks! And I agree, I’m a relative noob when it comes to proper balancing. And yes, you’re absolutely welcome to tinker around with it. I’d appreciate credits, should you choose to publish something resembling my design.
Otherwise, make sure to tag me, I‘d love to see what can be done with it!
Great Design, could use a little tweaking in the maneuverability but other then that SOLID aircraft. Would You mind if I played around with the design?
@Krikkit42
Yep.
@ZeroWithSlashedO Dude, it seems there’s a LOT more still to come in that challenge. The platinum’s are joining in ;-)
@Krikkit42
That thing did lack weaponry though, which is what I really wanted.
@ZeroWithSlashedO … says the guy who made a replica with a pretty authentic flight model on a 50-part budget. If it were just for me, your Hornet would def win!
Can we just pretty much agree that this is the winner?
Very nice. I'm going to dogfight the t with my entry aircraft
@ComradeKaiser7 Thanks for the accolades! :-) Excited to see though what the other participants have yet in store.
Might be a winner 👀
Thanks so much for all the upvotes and comments! While I have your attention: Can someone explain to me how to post prettier (in-game) screenshots along with the upload? I’m on iOS (cuz my PC is a potato) and I just can‘t figure it out. I’m sure there’s a thread for that somewhere already but … man, am I lazy (actually I quite busy) today. ;-)
So is there any chance or am I stuck with embedding screenshots in the description via html code after uploading?
Thanks!!
I literally used missile cameras as over the wing camera and it's hella fun, you should add this as a feature.
Plane looks awesome and handles okay
@AeroAeroTheMen Hey thanks, that means a lot! Appreciate the upvote and the kind words.
Oo-wee! Thanks for the instant upvote, @AWESOMENESS360 !
