  • at 50% throttle = about 1850 km/h
  • Improved airframe: maintains over 300 G pulls for more than a second before
reducing speed and holding G's at about 170
  • No more stalling when pitching forward!

About E.D.I:

E.D.I is the most advanced Air to Air, Air to Ground, and SEAD fighter in all of Simple Planes. With a cruising speed of mach 2 and the ability to pull over 300 G turns while remaining above 1750 km/h as well as being very easy to fly, this aircraft can simply never be beaten from anything in the air or on the ground. The HUD displays provide the pilot with all information they need to navigate the skies, control this monster of a fighter, and win every battle.
originally based off Drakenquack's E.D.I V4 but with an insane amount of XML changes, structural changes, Performance upgrades, Body changes, etc.

Flight:

  • USE VTOL/LEFT SIDE FLAPS TO TAKE OFF
  • Using flaps for flight is much easier to control
    FOLLOW IN GAME INSTRUCTIONS

Craft Instructions:

TAKEOFF:

  1. Set flaps to 20% down (use HUD in cockpit view to see flap %)
  2. Set throttle to around 30% (can be higher if you'd like but 30% throttle will get you off the ground very quickly)
  3. Once contact with ground is lost, retract landing gear
  4. Set flaps to 0% (flat)

FLIGHT:
- Very powerful engine, 50% throttle will cruise at around 1820km/h
- Very agile fighter, be careful when pitching up and down.
- Using flaps to pitch is smoother and easier to control
- Cruise velocity at 100% throttle is about 2530km/h (Mach 2)
- Cruise velocity at 80% throttle is about 2200km/h
- Average velocity in combat or while turning is about 1800-2100km/h
- Using cockpit view will give you a wide range of HUD information for combat and flight control

COMBAT:

  • Use 'R' to cycle between combat modes
  • 14x AIM-9X Sidewinder (Modded with long range and Multi Role, will never miss)
  • 6x AGM-65 Maverick (Air to Ground)
  • Dual mounted Explosive Cannons
  • Infinite Flares
  • Infinite Chaffs
  • Centre HUD will show you selected weapon and amount left
  • Right HUD will show you your target's distance, speed, and include a map of them relative to you
  • Bottom left HUD will show all weapon information including countermeasures and cannon rounds

If enemy is locked on to you, set throttle to 100% and do 2 quick flare fires then pull up 90 degrees. If enemy remains locked on, fire another 2 quick flares.

LANDING:

  1. Set throttle to 5%
  2. Extend landing gear at around 600km/h
  3. Once runway is lined up, set throttle to 0%
  4. Use flaps to control decent for smoothest landing

@Ezucra To sorta put into perspective how much I changed and put into it, It went from v4 to v7.4 by 0.01 each time, so first change was v4.01 and so on until 7.4 so approximately 340 main changes and still more to come

@Ezucra Its by a user called Drakenquack its called E.D.I V4 but I cant find it anymore since I downloaded it ages ago. It's basically the exact same shell, I changed the aero of it, the engines power, exhaust colour, added every HUD, every weapon (as the original didnt have any weapons), I changed all the XML properties of pretty much every part, made it turn faster and sustain higher g's, and all just a whole bunch of little details like wheel stuff, balance stuff, etc.

Pretty fast progression, keep up the good work, what/where is the original shell of the build?

@Ezucra I hope so too, I've been playing for about a year but I started designing about a month ago, I literally taught myself how to use XML probably around 3 weeks ago I learnt XML and when I found the original shell of this build I started mucking around with it and making it better until I made it what it is today. But yeah started designing about a month ago and I'm still learning!

@Ezucra It's a whole lot of vtol nozzles with the colour gradient changing as i went down the rows. and thank you so much! The HUD took me FOREVER it was a very frustrating process that I learnt alot in :)

@lukedoria this is good! Very good! I don't even know how you got the exhaust flames to change color over distance like that. The HUD is really cool too!
