The G.L.300 I is a Ryclian Fighter designed by G. Laurentia and served with the Royal Ryclian Air Force from 1939 until its complete phase out in 1945 by better aircraft from other updated designs or foreign designs.

In 1936, Ryclia initiated a program for modern fighters to update part of its air force. Some of its specifications included any radial engine within the 800-1000 hp range and at least 2 medium-caliber machine guns. Laurentia, while working on the G.L.220 fighter prototype at the time, has heard of the news and decided to make what was used to be an updated variation of the craft. This culminated in the G.L.300 prototypes, replacing the older inline engine with a 14-cylinder radial and outfitting it with initially 2 pairs of guns with mixed calibers, landing gears were made retractable and the once open cockpit were to be replaced with an enclosed design. The size of the aircraft was slightly larger than its predecessor and it would be only until late 1939 that the craft was introduced to the air force after numerous aerodynamic and structural issues were rectified and a firepower concern was addressed. These changes were enough to introduce the aircraft for the Air Force and for production, now bearing the variant designation I (1).

The aircraft proved to be stable, although it can only reach a possible max level speed of 450 kph at around less than 1000m and most of its armament were 7.9mm's, it nevertheless entered service with the Ryclian Air Force and some of their allies from 1939 until all of their sub-variants were retired in 1945. About 430 units were made, with most of them going to the Ryclian Air Force at ~82%. About 195-300 units were destroyed in various ways throughout the battles from 1939 to the end of the aircraft's military service.

This aircraft was one of the designs that participated in the program, among other aircraft designs submitted. Eventually, they'll be relegated to other duties, with their successors whether or not they can take the primary role more effectively until their predecessors are used again for backup.
