Classification: Multirole / Air Superiority Fighter
After the F-19B was deemed the go-to fighter for air force and marine operations, the F-19C was born. The aircraft retained most of the vastly improved flight characteristics however certain handling issues had been rectified. Pilots refer to the F-19C being the most stable model so far. The main differences between the B and C models were the weapon arrangements and fuel loads. Finally able to be classified as a multirole fighter, the redesigned pylons allowed the F-19C to be mounted with the IR-02 Inferno missile previously available only to the F-19B(A). The new model was adept at ground attack roles while still being more than capable of air to air combat. After much debate, the 2x 13mm cannons on the wings were replaced with the fast-firing 20mm J-12 cannon mounted directly in the nose of the aircraft which eliminated the problem of weapon ranging. Another major addition was the ability to mount external fuel tanks. This coupled with the new airframe that also had slight reduction in drag increased the maximum fuel load by 70% and the maximum range by 80%. The introduction of the dual-pylon allowed more weapons to be mounted while limiting aerodynamic drag. The aircraft also featured a low-visibility nose cone as the old bright orange nose was easily identifiable by enemy aircraft. Orders for the new model reached a peak at 312 F-19Cs ordered for the air force and marine corp.
