Lore

Born in Sapin in 1963, Lopez joined the Sapin Air Force as an adult and became leader of the Espada Squadron, where he presumably started a relationship with Marcela Vasquez, his wingman. During the Belkan War, he served as part of the Allied Forces against the Belkan forces, and was known to have achieved outstanding results in various battles, including over the Hydrian Line.

By mid-war, Lopez had increased contact with Osean forces in joint operations, including Joshua Bristow. Lopez showed enthusiasm for Bristow's idea of an "ideal armed force", and agreed to join his cause. On October 18, Espada Team abandoned their air base in Sapin and joined A World With No Boundaries.

Fate

There are three available outcomes for Lopez, which are determined by the player's Ace Style. However, he will always die regardless of the player's actions.

In the Mercenary route, Cipher kills Lopez over the Waldreich Mountains.

In the Soldier route, Lopez survives the battle, but suffers great injuries and succumbs to his wounds after landing.

In the Knight route, Lopez survives the battle and lives through the rest of the war. Some time later, he returns to the skies as a fighter pilot, only to be killed in the line of duty.
