Flying Nuclear Wing
74.3k Mumpsy
7.9 years ago
Based on Northrop's Nuclear Flying Wing. Asymetric wings. It was supposed to actually be nuclear powered but the amount of shielding would have been too heavy. It didn't ever make it past the drawing board! I kind of wonder if this is what the Star Wars B-wing is based on.

@Himynameiswalrus Yup
wut
Looks a whole lot like a B-Wing, sweet!
@Avro683Lancaster The Canberra is weird plane of its own. Off center cockpit and they stick a dude in the nose. Seems claustrophobic!
Np!
@SteadfastContracting @Liquidfox @Avro683Lancaster Thanks. Glad you all like it. 🙌
I showed this to my brother, and he made an oyster face. He doesn't like asymmetry. Even the Canberra PR.9 triggers him.
@BogdanX Four point is weird but so is this plane. I am not sure what the original setup would have been. Haven't seen any landing gear exposed on concepts I have seen.
Really cool!
@TheLatentImage I like that too! I don't see the advantage to having it way over there. Seems like landing would be tricky in real life!
This is neat, it's totally strange to look around in the cockpit and see so much ship on the right and and nothing on your left.
@Treadmill103 Thanks. Much appreciated! It was a fun build, a little educational too.
