Originally designed to tackle the world land speed record, the Lightning S1 has suffered from increasingly unmanageable enthusiasm from the design team. The resulting layers upon layers of metallic paint and 12.5 speakers sound system has sapped it's performance drastically. Reaching 530mph on a standard runway, the Lightning S1 qualified as a frontrunner for the highly coveted land style record.
