F-35D Lightning II
"In the dead of night, we heard from divisional command that their headquarters were just hit by an airstrike, and berated us for not stopping them. We were puzzled, as neither our radar nor ground control detected any aircraft in the vicinity. Without warning, streaks of tracers darted from behind, shredding my wingman's aircraft. Fortunately, he was able to eject from the aircraft. That morning, we discovered that it was in fact an F-35 which brought down my wingman. That an enemy aircraft was able to get within cannon range of my aircraft and not be noticed in the most heavily defended airspace is quite unnerving." -Anonymous
The F-35 (1) releases drop tanks. (2) releases sidewinder missiles. VTOL + UP opens bomb bay. VTOL + DOWN does absolutely nothing. Trim is functional. The F-35D Lightning II is an upgrade to the F-35A Lightning II that the US Air Force plans to do in the near future.
Changes made to this aircraft compared to its predecessor includes revised weapons bay that doesn't cause significant drag when in operation, a more powerful engine, revised aerodynamics, external pylons, and the ability to apply a different camouflage pattern on the top and bottom of the plane.
This aircraft belongs to the fictional Paternian Air Force, in both the C&C Roleplay, and the SP Map Roleplay. In both cases, it fulfills the role of a versatile, highly-capable fighter-bomber in the Paternian Trinity, with the F-22 Raptor fulfilling the role of air superiority fighter, and the F/A-18E Super Hornet fufilling the role of a cheap, economical fighter.

Ok, got it. @WaffleCakes
@QingyuZhou try to use this as a model for your bomb bay.
Np! @F4f879
Wow! Amazing! This can also land at high speeds at high angles of depression! Nice
@phanps No problem!
@Pilotmario ok thank you! i suck at building fuel tanks, so that is why i am asking
@phanps Go ahead. Permission is unnecessary for my builds.
Hello @Pilotmario i was wondering if I could have permission to use your fuel tanks for my upcoming F-15C. it would be much appreciated if i could
@ZephyrSystems This is one of the many possible configurations.
External hardpoints are entirely optional. The Paternian Air Force fits them onto machines intended for defensive operations such as air interdiction and interception in order to maximize potential firepower, while removing them for deep strike missions into defended airspace in order to maximize stealth.
@Pilotmario ye they are
@Sauce No.
lol those drop tanks tho XD
aren't they oversized?
@Sauce Idk.
how did i miss this one?
Upgrade to the Alpha.
The Bravo is the V/STOL variant, and the Charlie is the conventional carrierborne warplane. @t8erh8er
They're the same as the ones on my A-4. @jamesPLANESii
The drop tanks are a bit ridiculous, but the rest is fantasiic!
@DestinyAviation Indeed.
Gotcha. I believe I mentioned that I want to align with you on the C&C RP. And again, huge drop tanks. @Pilotmario
@DestinyAviation Yes. The Paternian Republic is a superpower.
Those are 220 gallon drop tanks.
Those are huge drop tanks. Also, should I say on the C&C RP that I want to align with you? Also (I'm sorry), who else is in the Trinity? @Pilotmario
@DeezNuts52 Thanks!
that story is freakin awesome! jeez
