Excelleron II
Description:
(Date: 2076) The Excelleron II is a supersonic racing aircraft heavily modified from an Aria F-201 stealth fighter jet (the type of which now decommissioned). Piloted by ace pilot Swan Bee (Alias; real name unknown), the jet was extensively built and tuned to compete in various ultra-high intensity air races while being suitable to Bee's body and, to an extent, even his mentality. Few others have ever had the privilege of flying the beast themselves, but those who have called it just that: a beast. Being customized for a very specific pilot, the jet is reported to be very hard to control due to it's skiddish handling and intense G-loads. Among many other feats, the pilot is famous for being able to fly it effortlessly through the trenches of Wright - with full afterburner (1200-1400 mph)
The fighter jet was chosen due to it's recent declassification and decommission from the military. It's speed, supermaneuverability, and lack of traditional aerodynamic control surfaces made it highly ideal, if not expensive to acquire. Modifications mainly include installing forward swept wings in place of it's traditional rearward swept wings, but small adjustments were made to other systems.
The jet is highly recognizable in competitions; it's moderate size already catches the eye, but it's black, white, and cherry livery leaves blurred stripes tailing behind it as it passes by. That, combined with it's shape, have earned it the nick-name "The Crimson Shooting Star."
Controls:
Standard SP controls. The afterburner is activated by arming activation group one and throttling the VTOL slider up. (Due note, however, that disarming group one while afterburner is on will leave the afterburner uncontrollable until re-armed)
Notes:
Yeah, I may have overplayed the description a bit; It's really not too hard to fly if you know what you're doing. It was all for story building, anyway. At any rate, this is my most prided jet so far. I know this is far from my most beautiful plane, but that's because more emphasis was put into it's flight characteristics than aesthetics, so simplicity was key. Truth be told, I have been gradually modifying it on and off for a few months now. The outcome, I would say, is my most well-engineered plane to date (In terms of speed and supermaneuverability). Btw, that Aria F-201 jet mentioned above... that one is militarily classified as of our time =)
