An interesting experiment though the lower pulley gets snagged on the chain and kinks in the chain form, this is why I've been advocating for a flexible length that can be adjusted for tension and flexibility to represent rope, cables or even whip antennae. For pulleys I think something like the adjustable tire linked to an engine or a rotator would be best.
