The designers ran out of space in the fuselage so they just attached the passengers to the top. They also made it so that they could be detachted! (AG7) who cares if it goes mach 2.2? The aisle configuration is 1X1 (get it? There is no aisle). When they attached the extra jet engines on the wings they made the landing gears EXTRA big, just in case ; ).
