SOUTHSEA MERLIN
Lore
The Southsea Merlin was a British and American fighter used in WW2.
It served from 1937 in the RAF,then in 1940 in the USAF too and In 1945 it left service.
The most recognisable feature is its landing gear that folds into the fuselage but also the gull wing that was not common in its era, except for some other aircrafts but they had this type of wings on the lower fuselage.
It featured a decent radial engine that made it speed up to 530 km/h (TAS) and two 50 cal. guns on the American version (The one shown here).
This specific plane belongs to the Eagle 5 squadron of the usaf and it's wing 12. (Fictional)
