The C44 was an early World War I to II era prototype for a heavyweight bomber. Armed with 27 bombs, it was lightly armed and armored, and somewhat slow. This was compensated for with an incredibly low stall speed for its size and interesting maneuverability. It’s biggest peculiarity was the bomber’s fixed landing gear. Construction was cancelled in favor of the B-series bombers, particularly the B-17D and so on.
Lowest observed speed on this thing was 62 knts.
