Auto Credit Based on RAF1's Soviet Challenge!
My entry for the Soviet Challenge, the Yak-141! It never really left the prototype stage, but this jet was a supersonic VTOL fighter from the late 80s. Although the project got cancelled, some of the expertise gained was shared with Lockheed for the development of the X-35 prototype.
In-game performance for this plane is a little weak, because the CoL is way too far behind the CoM, but it's alright apart from sluggish turns. VTOL works, and it can break the sound barrier just fine, which is close enough for me as a tradeoff for it looking right.
Sorry about it requiring the beta, but I'm not too worried about how I do in the contest and wanted to make it look as good as possible.

136k RAF1Looks incredibly accurate, I don't think anyone else trying to make this plane will be as successful! Great entry :D9.3 years ago
