Towards the end of the second world war, the USAF joined forces with the RAF to bridge the gap between the Supermarine Spitfire and the P-51 “Mustang.” Lead engineers came up with the P-51-W “snakehead,” which combines the firepower and ingenuity of the spitfire with the speed and maneuverability of the mustang. AG1 for canopy, AG3 for lights, AG4 for heavy 23mm cannons.
