Venture Aeronautics Project G800 "SailSport-1"
This aircraft was designed to use updrafts to climb higher! For more information about how to use updrafts, click here.
Overview: the G800 "SailSport-1" is the first aircraft in the new SailSport series of aircraft. Its lightweight and sleek design gives it the ability to fly slow and still climb to a desired cruising altitude, with the help of updrafts.
FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS
Maximum Airspeed (TAS): 200mph, 322kph, 174knots.
Maximum Altitude (UNPRESSURIZED): 12,500ft, 3,810m.
Takeoff Airspeed (Flaps Zero)(IAS): 45mph, 72kph, 39knots. ( SetWindSpeed 0 2 0
for takeoff and climb phase. SetWindSpeed 0 5 0
for greater rate of climb after takeoff.)
Landing Airspeed (Flaps Full)(IAS): 30-35mph, 48-56kph, 26-30knots. (Use SetWindSpeed 0 0 0
for landing.)
Controls: VTOL: Flaps. Activate1: Launcher Cart Detachment. Throttle: Launcher Cart Throttle.
NOTES
The aircraft tends to have adverse yaw after turning at lower speeds, which can also cause the aircraft to roll. Turning too hard at near-landing speeds can cause the aircraft to go into an almost irrecoverable turn, which can be fixed by pitching the aircraft down and allowing it to gain speed. The aircraft has slow rolling capabilities.
