PNR General Electric Diesel Electric Locomotive 902
GUYS. ITS MY ALAGAAAAAA!!!!!
Credits to ShirakamiShimada. He is a great friend of mine, he gave me an unfinished build and an opportunity to complete it!
In the 1970's, The Philippine National Railways ordered a batch of 5 Diesel Electric Locomotives from General Electric. Specifically, the model chosen for this order was the U15C Light U-boat Model.
902 was the second of the batch, as stated by her number. Her story begins at the Eerie plant in Pennsylvania, before she was sent to the Philippines to work.
Over the years, others in this first batch weren't as lucky. 901 was Derailed and scrapped. 903 lasted alongside 902 longer before she was put down in 1999. After a decade out of service, they scrapped her for parts.
904 was renumbered to 908 after a freak accident with the real 908(now 916 that we are not gonna talk about!) and then scrapped. And 905 had a freak collision with 910 and both units we're scrapped.
So it seems like the first batch is doomed, right? Well, 902 was the lucky one. She survived until the 2020s, when she was rehabilitated by DESCO, and repainted into the Ponkan livery, where she is still running today, serving as an MSC Hauler pulling the EMU coaches provided by the JNR.
