Mig-15bis
100% Historically EXACT replica of the Mikoyan-Gurevich Mig-15bis (NATO reporting name "Fagot") a Soviet jet fighter of the Cold War.
|| Read instructions below ||
The MiG-15 was one of the first successful jet fighters to incorporate swept wings to achieve high transonic speeds. In combat over Korea, it outclassed straight-winged jet day fighters which were largely relegated to ground attack roles, and was quickly countered by the similar American swept-wing North American F-86 Sabre. The MiG-15 is often mentioned, along with the F-86 Sabre, as the best fighter aircraft of the Korean War, and among the best fighter aircraft of all time.
The Mig-15 became famous as the main fighter of the USSR and North Korea in early Cold War and was slightly superior to the North American F-86 Sabre, the north side of the Yalu river was a zone prohibited to the American planes due to the Mig activity... This zone were known as "The Mig alley".
This one is painted with the schemes of an unknown North Korean/USSR unit, serial 4115. This North Korean MiG-15 was reportedly sighted in spring of 1951 near the Mig alley.
Features:
- The 3 cannons (Nuddleman NR-23 and N-37) are perfectlly replicated using real specifications.
- At sea level the plane matches the real velocity, but due to the game the engine is overpowered as the altitude increases.
- All the control surfaces are modded to match the real specifications of the aircraft.
- It carries two 250kg bombs (Russian OFAB-250), are the standard in the game but they are the real bombs that used the Russian Army over Korea and nowadays :P
- The engine exhaust and the tracer bullets are modded in order to add realism.
Instructions:
- Press 1 to activate navigation lights
- Press 2 to activate landing light.
- Press 3 to launch the bombs simultaneously.
- For take-off: Set thrust to 50% and slide down the VTOL (flaps) to the second mark, do not pull the nose up until you reach 180-200mph.
- For landing: Set thrust to 0% and slide down the VTOL to max.
- To attack land targets: Set thrust to 30-40% and use trim to max, this give you more agility and more accuracy.
And... Enjoy this awesome plane!! One of my favorite aircrafts!

I'm afraid that "100% Historically EXACT replica" claim is false advertising, @RASEN1914. Dimensions and shape are off in several locations. I'd rate it somewhere around 75-80% accurate, if that. Still looks good though.
