Northrop Grumman F-5C Skoshi Tiger

History
The Northrop Grumman F-5 is a family of twin engine, light fighter aircraft designed by Northrop Grumman as a private venture. Lead by Edgar Schmued (Who had previously been the chief designer at North American Aviation and was involved in the design of the P-51 Mustang and F-86 Sabre), the design team created a light aircraft around 2 General Electric J85 turbojet engines, which had a surprisingly high thrust to weight ratio of 6.25 to 7.5 (Depending on the version), compared to that of the 4.7 ratio of the J79 engines of the Mcdonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II. The prototype aircraft, designated YF-5A Freedom Fighter, first flew on July 30, 1959. The F-5 family fighter variants (Single seat aircraft, not twin seat trainer and single seat reconnaissance variants that is) are generally split into two groups; the F-5A model, designated the Freedom Fighter, and the F-5E/F models designated the Tiger II. These aircraft were heavily upgraded; although visually they look identical to earlier variants, internally, they are almost completely different. Note: The model depicted here is the F-5C Skoshi Tiger. These were 12 upgraded F-5A airframes used in Vietnam by the USAF for combat evaluation, designated the F-5C. A bit under 2 dozen nations have at one-point, operated F-5s, some even in combat. As previously mentioned, the US used them briefly in Vietnam, and on top of that, many F-5s and up in the hands of the RVNAF (South Vietnam’s air force), were they used toward the back-end of the conflict, and 114, (87 F-5As and 27 F-5Es) ended up being captured by North Vietnam, and even used operationally by the VPAF in ground missions against the Khmer Rouge, with the 372nd Air Division VPAF holding the distinction of being the only air squadron in history to operate F-5s and Soviet-built Mikoyan-Gurevich Mig-21 Fishbeds simultaneously. Iran’s IRIAF have used the F-5 extensively in the Iran-Iraq War. It fought pretty much every Iraqi fighter type deployed by Iraq during the conflict: Mig-21s, Mig-23s, Mig-25s, Su-20/22s, and even French Mirage F1 and Super Etendards. They even developed it into homegrown aircraft designs based off the F-5, the Azarakhsh, Saeqeh and the Kowsar. South Korea and Taiwan have also used the aircraft extensively, with the later still using it as a reserve fighter to the modern day. Other countries to operate the F-5 include Brazil, Ethiopia, Mexico, Norway, Singapore, and several others. Canada even used a license-built variant, the CF-5. The US Navy used them at the famous Top Gun school, were they used to represent Mig-21s in dissimilar air combat training. Captured F-5As and Es were even tested by the Soviet Union and pitted against various Soviet aircraft, namely, the Mig-21, and they were very impressed with, in particular, its dogfight performance. With a top speed of only Mach 1.63, its not as fast as most of its contemporaries, but its dogfighting abilities were outstanding for the time. The aircraft carries a pair of M39A2 20mm revolver autocannons mounted in the nose. The F-5 could carry a wide range of ordnance: Sidewinders, FFAR and Zuni rockets, bombs of up to 2000ibs (1000kg), Bullpups. Later/Modernised versions can carry: Maverick Anti-Tank missiles, Paveway laser guided bombs and the F-5S can even carry AMRAAM missiles. The Iranian variants can even carry soviet weaponry, namely, R-60 (AA-8 Aphid) A-A missiles, R-27 (AA-10 Alamo) A-A missiles and R-73 (AA-11 Archer) A-A missiles. Not even this, admittedly long explanation could do this amazing aircraft justice.

Creation notes
-I tried to keep this aircrafts performance at least somewhat like the real thing, but it’s not perfect, the elevators do sometimes cause stability issues.
-It doesn’t have a cockpit (I tried really hard to make one for this plane but it just didn’t work out…sorry)
-The missiles: They are AIM-9Es, which are usable, but not amazing…don’t expect to hit many of the shots you take with this are going to miss
-The guns: Are very powerful but can be a little annoying to aim.
-The paint job: Is based off the default F-5E skin in the game War Thunder, and the serials are completely fictional.
-The landing gear: It sucks, I know, give me a break it took me at least 2 hours to build the nose gear alone.
-Activation groups: there is only AG1, which deploys the airbrake
Other than that, enjoy flying this thing, please leave feedback/constructive criticism in the comments :)
