Mk.4 Churchill Hybrid
Background
Hello everyone today I made a post WWI concept tank mixing both early to mid WWII and WWI Tank Designs. In this concept tank of mine I just basically mixed a Churchill III Turret in an up-armored Mk.IV Tank Hull including the armaments. You can pretty much say that this tank is a land battleship rather than a heavy tank considering it has many guns.
P.S. THIS IS COMPLETELY MADE UP!!!
(Totally Real)Tank History
3 Years after first World War ended some British Tank Designers had an idea of putting an additional 360° rotating box shaped turret on the already existing Mark IV hull to provide additional firepower when fighting against enemy tanks in the battlefield and add additional armor on the Mark IV Hull just incase another war broke out. Many were quite interested in the idea so a prototype was made on August 9, 1921 and there were many mechanical problems instantly showed up during testing like constant jamming of the heavy rotating turret, outdated suspension, weak powered engine, tank spacing for the crew, maintenance, and the size. During it's building stages it was fitted a boxy but heavily armored turret equipped with a new 57 mm 6pdr OQF Mk.V cannon to effectively kill enemy tanks, an additional machinegun near the main cannon and replacing the front hull machinegun with a captured WWI German flamethrower to effectively kill infantry at close distances, and a new radio comms in the rear of the turret. Even after fixing all of these problems the idea was quickly scrapped along with the prototype itself in July 8, 1923 for a more small fast compact tank rather than big slow moving tank and thus it never made into production. The box shaped turret was later used on all churchill tank models during ww2
