Condor™ Jet-Assisted Glider
Mod BaconAircraft
7.8 years ago
Introducing, the physics defying glider; the Condor. The Condor is a fictional, V tailed glider designed for low weight and low speed cruising while maintaining a low descent rate. The Condor features a detachable and ditch-able cheap jet engine for jet assisted takeoffs, therefore eliminating the need of a tow-plane.
CONTROLS:
THROTTLE: Activate jet engine.
VTOL UP: Open sliding canopy.
AG-1: Ditch jet engine.
AG-2 + BRAKE: Spoilers

HOW TO FLY:
Throttle to 100%.
The plane will rotate and climb automatically.
Once the fuel is under 10%, detach that engine.
Level off and TRIM DOWN.
The plane will auto-glide. You just point were it will go.

Plane is BROKEN!!!!!! Every time i try to fly or take off it breaks apart and explodes!!! FIX THIS!!!!!
@BaconAircraft Absolutely, if you weren't living in Canada, i would say come to my place and fly with me :D
@Thoum I bet. From the you profile picture, the view must be a hundred times better than that from my DJI.
Well, if you get the chance to fly in a glider, do it! It is worth it.
@Thoum
Nope, I live in Canada, but being a Chinese passport holder, somethings are harder done than said.
@BaconAircraft Well my parents were first concerned to, but my dad got convinced, that flying and especially gliding is a really cool sport! Now only my mom is still concerned... but I think that's just because she's a mother... :D
R u living in the States?
@Thoum Indeed,
You are a glider pilot yourself, correct?
I wish I could get into aviation, but my parents have feelings otherwise.
@BaconAircraft k
But Simpleplanes needs more gliders :D
@Thoum Understand what you mean. It was a fictional design over a year ago and I just made things up as I went. If i remember correctly, it was turned into a glider when a joke between my friends went the wrong way with no original intention to make the cockpit into a glider.
Well, I like the design, the starting technique and also the Cockpit, but in my opinion it doesn't resemble any glider
Here's an example I think fits better :)
Just ditch the jet engine away, because they aren't expensive at all
@JordanPlayz101 No thanks.
How on earth did you manage to make a working timer for the cockpit? I absolutely love it great job
BaconAircraft since your making a A340 Fedex I got you covered.

You can use it if you want.
*flies
anyways amazing glider it still flys at 18mph!
ok great
@Thatplane22 I don't recall ever hating anybody. Maybe I was in an argument with you? Anyways, I don't remember any conflict I had with you; so, no.
do u still hate me?
@Potkuri it's simple, to get the tail to work, put a bigger tail (or a ton of little tails) in front, and it functions normally. I discovered this when I was building the baconelectric Swiftfest, which functions very similar to this one
Interesting, love the tail and how it performs in a realistic way. I just don't get it how's that possible in SP. The plane is unrealistically slow to roll and it could be speedier, too
very clever tech..... AWESOME
I think its a very cool idea but the gliding speed is a little to low i think, i used it 2 times with take of and landing and maybe if u would make it a bit faster it would be more pleasurefull to use because at those speeds its a little bit boring but i think it looks awesom and has very cool wing movement and controll surfaces! @BaconAircraft
And hey, why not make something even lighter?
