F11J Dolphin

29.6k LegnaK  7.0 years ago

Development work of the J11F Dolphin began in 1949, using a swept wing from the start rather than adapting a straight-winged design as was done with the J9F Whirl, the Dolphin was a rather poorly recieved aircraft as it failed to reach the supersonic performance and fire power of the J10F Maelstrom II, despite its setbacks, the J11F Dolphin was used as close air support and as an anti-ship bomber, the aircraft was overall discontinued and retired in 1956 along with the J12F Night Witch II (the Night Witch still being used as a trainer aircraft.) when the YAF-41 Voyagerdevnote below took a rather solid foothold on Iosia's naval fighter fleet.
