The Fw-291 "Rabe" (Raven) was an experimental Luftwaffe reconnaissance aircraft. Capable of flying for longer than any aircraft of its size, it could fly at 400mph at 20,000ft meaning that only certain Allied interceptors could catch it. The prototype first flew in February 1944 but it was never able to enter service the to the collapse of the Third Reich. It was later captured by the Allies and sent to RAE Farnborough for trials.
