The Lockheed U-2, nicknamed "Dragon Lady", is an American single-jet engine, ultra-high altitude reconnaissance aircraft operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) and previously flown by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). It provides day and night, high-altitude (70,000 feet; 21,000 m), all-weather intelligence gathering.[1] -Wikipedia

During the Cold War, this Hycon Model B panoramic camera was installed in the Lockheed U-2 reconnaissance aircraft displayed directly above it in the Looking At Earth gallery as an essential intelligence-gathering tool of the United States. In 1956, the Museum's U-2C (then a U-2A) equipped with this Model B camera made the first overflight of the Soviet Union. In 1962, another Model B camera in the collection provided positive proof of the existence of Soviet missiles in Cuba, precipitating a crisis that led the world to the brink of nuclear war.-Smithsonian

At present, the Dragon Ladies can only bring two of these three distinct capabilities along on a single mission. This typically consists of the Senior Glass signals intelligence suit in the fuselage and “Super Pods” under the wings, and either the Senior Year Electro Optical Reconnaissance System-2 (SYERS-2) or Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar System-2 (ASARS-2) in the nose- the drive

@Simplemike Hey, almost all my planes go Mach 5+, I couldn't care less about how realistic the speed is. I want to go places and do things :)

@SledDriver thank you! It's a bit too fast at altitude, but it's painful to play when a plane is too slow haha
