To Hover: 1 - VTOL UP
2 - Activate 1 for Vertical Lift Engines
3 - Roll and Elevator for Control
To Fly: 4 - Activate 2 for Horizontal Engines
5 - Immediately! Deactivate 1
6 - Control as any Normal Airplane, except roll is slow to respond.
You can play with the attitude of the wings (VTOL) and using the Vertical engines in unison with forward thrust to shorten your landing. Landing conventionally seems to work 99% of the time for me.
