INTRO

Boeing's AH-64 Apache is the main helicopter of the US Army, successor to the AH-1 Cobra. This is currently considered the best attack helicopter in the world, being used in several hostile environments and with high success rates in its missions.

PRODUCTION

The American Army issued a request for proposals in 1972 for an advanced attack helicopter (Advanced Attack Helicopter, abbreviated AAH). From an initial list of 5 manufacturers, only Hughes Aircraft's Toolco Aircraft Division (later Hughes Helicopters) and Bell were selected as finalists. Hughes' 97 / YAH-64 model was preferred over Bell's 409 / YAH-63 model in 1976. The first flight by the prototype took place in 1977 although it was not until 1982 that the contract was signed. In 1983 the first production helicopter was built at Hughes hangars in Mesa, Arizona. In 1984 Hughes Helicopters was acquired by McDonnell Douglas for $ 500,000,000. It became Boeing Helicopters after the merger of McDonnel Douglas and Boeing in 1996.

@OPaiTaOn I think what could have made it better is if you disabled a lot of drag, that's the main killer for builds. Maybe if it was around 1250 or so drag points it could be better frame rate wise. If you're not sure how to do that you need to activate the XML mod.
