Cross-Line Heavy Wrecker
The lab coats here at Welmade's development sector love a good R+R project. So, when they hear about a challenge for creating a towing machine, you can practically hear their minds cooking, looking for any reason to take things waaaay too literally and to put in way too much effort. As well, they used e ery opportunity to abuse Welmade's connections with Cross-Line Performance Co, and any other partnerships they could muster.
That being said, they found an abandoned prototype frame and went to work. Not long after, they threw in a massive V8 engine from one of their scrap Brute Concepts, and took the cab and grill from a 1200 series truck that was sitting in a scrap yard. Just so it could still be used for any trailer, a receiver was welded on to fit almost any trailer.
They paired all of that with a flexible suspension setup, retaining only the front axle from the frame. Airbags were also installed in the rear, to allow for better situational control during heavy lifting. As well, a Rear-Wheel-Steer system was also included, to increase mobility in rocky situations. AWD is also equipped, and is engaged electronically.
Lastly, after some brutal testing, it was time for the towing apparatus. Roll cages, tool boxes, and winches out the wahoo are all present for this one-of-one truck. All of the electronics have been hard-wired into the cab for easy operations, as well as a secondary controller out back for a better view of your operation.
Controls
Pitch and Yaw - Main motoring controls
1 - Activates all lights
2 - AWD
3 - AWSteer
4 - Air Bag control (toggled)
5 - Activate the front winch (VTOL Down)
6 - Activate Front Magnet
7 - Activate Main Magnet
8 - Activate Rear Boom + Winch (Controlled with VTOL down and Trim)
Landing Gear - Opens the doors
Note- All controls are labeled in the cab's fully detailed interior. The doors can be opened by clicking the forwards handle if the latch doesn't work. (Which I know it won't for non-vr users, it twists)
And no, the coffee is not drinkable. It's the engineer's empty cups.
here are some edited screenshots, as well as some development shots.
Built for the Towing Challenge, and inspired by the Matt's Offroad Recovery Heavy Wrecker.

@Diver I can guarantee ya, it still does lol
@Rymanx03 I used to do that once in a while, makes people happy.
@Diver Damn, I wasn't expecting that today. Thanks!
Congratulations on Platinum my man. It will probably take a bit of time to update ur color on the website.
I just have an idea to implement something like alliances by different companies in simpleplanes.
you can join
@Rymanx03 some swaybars would’ve done the trick.
@Sm10684 fair enough. It's hard to find that balance between drivability and on-road performance
Suspension 15/15
Drivability 5/15 (tips very easy with lots of body roll)
Detail 20/20
Towing 50/50
10pts bonus
100/100
@Venena Hey, that sounds cool by me. I looked into your forum post a little, so I've got no issues with it. Good luck with your story!
Hi! Ive seen some of ur builds, and got my interest, just asking if can i borrow them? Not all, im planning to make some story and shi... ty
Sweet rig!
@Sm10684 Heh, thanks. I wasn't quite sure where I was going with it once I had the frame done, but I'm glad I went where I did. It was fun, thanks for posting the challenge!
okay, THIS is cool!!
