C-65 Odyssey
Why does the nose look like Homer Simpson?
New cargo pilot for the C-65
A reupload of my old Odyssey after I learned the nose wheel didn’t retract. An old predecessor to the C-130, set up to fight fires. A big, mean cargo machine. Inspiration came from the C-130 and the Spruce Goose, oddly enough (Not recommended for water uses).

Fictional Backstory:
Immediately after World War II, the U.S.A.F. decided that the C-47 Skytrain would not cut it for future wars with communist countries. From all areas of logistics and troop movement, the C-47 would have been too small to do anything, so the U.S.A.F. requested a larger design, able to do all of the jobs the C-47 could, but better. Work on the C-65 began in the late 1940’s, and the first flight began in 1949. Work was finished in 1952. The U.S.A.F. bought 30, and private companies initially bought a total of 10. The C-130, though, was released for purchase by the military in 1954, which tanked the C-65 sales, and forced it to be sold strictly for civilian use. But, after clever marketing strategies, the C-65 sales took off once again, and filled the gap of long-range logistical use, from cargo transport to firefighting.
Notes of the Aircraft:
It’s a pretty simple plane. It’s heavy, it’s slow, but it’s still pretty agile. Great for fighting fires (if fires actually were a thing in the game), and has quite great short landing abilities for a cargo plane.
Oh, and it can also pull a Pugachev’s Cobra. Idk how, but it can. Does it help? No. But that won’t stop you, now would it?

@Thelegitpilot13 you make fantastic aircraft so it only felt right to upvote what I enjoyed flying. Lots of people seem to like builds and then not upvote or comment so I thought I’d try to somewhat change that. I’m excited to see all the future aircraft you make!
@Mustang51 thanks! I’ve been looking at my other builds, seeing you upvoted basically all of them, and leaving nice comments. Thanks for being an awesome person!
Get ready for my next build, though.
You just got yourself a new follower!
@Noname918181 LMAO
@Thelegitpilot13 tho it stalled and went underwater
@Noname918181 Told ya it could be done.
@Thelegitpilot13 also I had performed a pugachev's cobra
@Noname918181 Ooo
@Thelegitpilot13 I'm working on the gunship....
@Armyguy1534 I like my cargo planes like I like my meat.
EXTRA THICC
@Thelegitpilot13 hmmm
Thiccc
@Thelegitpilot13 i can make it, but i am busy now. I am making fallout 3 project and i want to make TU 160
@JolyLoly If @Noname918181 makes a gunship out of this, I will be very pleased.
it is time to call @Noname918181 to make gunship lmao
Ok, I’ll update the link on the challenge page @Thelegitpilot13
@LordAidanYT That is correct. I removed my old one since the front landing gear was not retracting as I would have liked, and when I tried fixing it, it blew up. It’s a bit different, but hopefully should work even better than before.
@Thelegitpilot13
Are you replacing your old submission with this?
@Natedog120705 That it is indeed
@DSJ8Corporations
To those of you who were tagged here and below, you upvoted my old C-65. I learned it didn’t work as I wanted, so I tweaked it a bit. It’s essentially the same plane, but the landing gear should work better now.
