RJ BF109-X 5.1
Introduction
Well here we are again, i started with a commonly recognisable BF-109 (oh i so wish they had decided to make the canopy easier to model), then decided to shake things up a bit and turn it into a pusher which obviously necessitates the boom tail arrangement (it ended up looking like a mini 1 engine Bronco). This build matched blueprints for the fuselage to the rear of the cockpit 100% including the sloping sides etc. I did cheat with the cockpit rear section and slightly on the front section in regards to glass position (i changed it for framework) as i thought that the advanced BF109-X would have changed other bits (oh and it was a lot simpler for the rear bit at least).
I decided to throw in full wheelwells with matching undercarriage doors (3 seperately hinged parts) which honestly was fun but challenging at the same time.... more parts = more pain.
Rather than retain the existing armament i decided to just add 4no. wing mounted cannon to match other armaments of later WW2 aircraft.
The flight model is fun, it starts slow but then builds to a speed in excess of what the original BF109 could match, its also quite fun to throw about (realistic? probably not, fun? yes)
