Now for something a little different.

This is in fact a working autogyro created with the new helicopter parts, but with the throttle input disabled for the main rotor. Like all autogyros, the main rotor is unpowered and spins freely with air flowing up, rather than down through the rotor blades. The conventional engine's forward thrust provides this airflow, and the rotor mast is angled backwards slightly (5 degrees) to assist in this.

VTOL input controls rotor pitch. For STOL operations, set VTOL input to maximum and this bird will lift off almost immediately after throttle up. For CTOL operations, set VTOL to a low setting or even at neutral to allow the rotor to reach its maximum speed.

WARNING: DO NOT LET MAIN ROTOR OVERSPEED

For best cruise performance, set VTOL to just above neutral to prevent overspeeding.
