M1 Garand Jet (RAF)
This may break one or two rules, but its still a WW2 jet.
From Wiki: The M1 Garand or M1 rifle[nb 1] is a semi-automatic rifle that was the service rifle of the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
Also From Wiki: An aircraft is a vehicle that is able to fly by gaining support from the air. It counters the force of gravity by using either static lift or the dynamic lift of an airfoil,[1] or, in a few cases, direct downward thrust from its engines. Common examples of aircraft include airplanes, helicopters, airships (including blimps), gliders, paramotors, and hot air balloons.[2]
The M1 Garand Jet was a first generation fighter jet made by Gloster Aircraft Company and the Springfield Armory during the Battle of Britain. Its main focus was to help maintain air superiority. So, a Texan aircraft engineer decided to draw up plans to make a flying gun based off the M1. He was laughed off his job a few weeks later, but his design was actually considered, and 5 blueprints were given to the RAF, and with help from the Springfield Armoury, they built 10 of these aircraft. They saw limited service, but its large gun at the front and copied engine design from Germany made it unique. Unsurprisingly, they were taken out of service soon after the Battle of Britain, and the last of these giants was scrapped in 1967.
