~~~~OPERATIONAL AT HIGHEST SETTINGS~~~~Group 1 & 2 = AIM-4 Falcon missilesThe McDonnell F-101 Voodoo was a supersonic jet fighter which served the United States Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force. Initially designed by McDonnell Aircraft as a long-range bomber escort for the Strategic Air Command, the Voodoo was instead developed as a nuclear-armed fighter-bomber for the Tactical Air Command, and as a photo reconnaissance aircraft based on the same airfra ame. Extensively modified versions were produced as an all-weather interceptor aircraft, serving with the Air Defense Command, the Air National Guard,and the Royal Canadian Air Force.The Voodoo's career as a fighter-bomber was relatively brief, but the reconnaissance versions served for some time. The RF-101 reconnaissance variant of the Voodoo was instrumental during the Cuban Missile Crisis and saw extensive service during the Vietnam War.This variant, the F-101B, was stripped of its M39 cannons to make room for missile and tactical nuclear rocket payloads. Although it never saw combat, the F-101B remained in service until 1982. The only Voodoo variant to serve in combat was the reconnaissance frame, the RF-101C. Planelover400 requested that I build this Cold War bird, and it's a real beaut. It's sleek looking and flies very well. It is one of my most agile jet replicas, but it is very slightly nose tippy until you fire the two missiles. It features an aiming reticle in cockpit view so that you can get your missiles on target. It's a very solid and responsive plane that is easy to get in the air and land back down.Enjoy, and don't hesitate to request any of your favorite warbirds!
