It may be a bit late, but heres a supply of surplus fighters from 1935. They’re cheap, light, and easy to repair. We fitted them with a external drop tank for escort missions, and jury rigged two more machine guns in the wings for a little extra firepower. If you like, you could mount a bomb where the drop tank it. It can carry as big as a bomb as you need, 250lbs to 25,000lbs if you can make it fit. I hope they can help ya
