In the 1970's, Grumman created a legend in air combat. It would become famous in Top Gun and again in Top Gun: Maverick. It was the F-14. The F-14A Tomcat would receive numerous updates throughout the years until in the 1990's the F-14D Super Tomcat would be unleashed. It range was increased along with the engine power. Something unique about the F-14 was the ability to carry the AIM-54 Phoenix. Sadly, the F-14D's legacy was ended in the early 2000's with its retirement in favor to the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.     If DCS is anything to go by, afterburner should be around 80% throttle, not 95%.
