The MiG 15 was produced by Mikoyan-Gurevich (MiG) in 1949 for the Soviet Union. It was one of the most successful jets being the most produced and the first swept wing aircraft to achieve transonic speeds. It gained air superiority over Korea where it was faced off against slower jets with a straight wing design, until it met its match with the swept wing design, American F-86 Sabre.
