Designed in late 1942, the Caproni Ca.404 "Falco (Hawk)" was a proposal for a light bomber/heavy fighter/torpedo bomber. It would have had a crew of two, consisting of a pilot and weapons officer. It had a standard armament of: four 250kg torpedoes, one 30mm cannon, one 90mm cannon (which the WO would have had to manually reload), two 20mm machine guns, and four 12.7mm machine guns. Work on the design began in late 1943, but delays pushed the project even farther behind schedule. By the time of the Armistice, not a single piece of the plane had been built or shipped, and the aircraft remained confined to the history books.
