About EP-ICD

The 712th Boeing 747 was ordered by Martinair of the Netherlands with serial number 24134 in cargo configuration. It made its first flight on 15/09/1988 and was delivered eleven days later with the registration PH-MCF. Four days later it was leased to Qantas Australia under the same register and flew for that company until 30/05/1989. Four months after returning to Martinair it was again leased by Qantas on 02/10/1989 and this time it was in the Australian company's fleet until 20/04/1990. Then the plane was leased to Singapore Airlines for four months from 07/11/1991 to 06/02/1992.

From December 2004 to June 2007, its ownership was transferred to PAFCO leasing company, but the aircraft remained under lease to Martinair until it was decommissioned on 10/28/2007 and its ownership was also transferred to AWAS leasing company. This company also changed the plane's registration to N134AP on 04/25/2008 while transferring the plane to Schiphol airport in Amsterdam. This content is copied from Tayareh's blog.

Iran Air's efforts to buy this plane through intermediaries have started and first on 05/28/2008 the Turkish company ACT Airlines bought the plane with TC-AKZ register and a month later on 06/27/2008 it was handed over to another Turkish company Ankair And despite all the problems that occurred on the way to the arrival of this plane, it entered Iran on the same day [corresponding to July 7, 2017] and its register was changed to EP-ICD.

The cockpit of this jumbo plane is more advanced and optimized than other classic Iranian 747s.
