DESCRIPTION:

The Raging Sands Hatchet was a military hatchet used by most soldiers in the desert during WW1. The Hatchet was made of high carbon aluminum-steel polymer and sharpened on a special grinding wheel. Making it twice as sharp, lighter then previous military hatchet’s, and more compact. It had a simple leather grip help on by two metal rings but it was more comfy then the cracked wood grips of the previous hatchet. When this came into production. Soldiers refused to use the Military standard hatchet and went out and bought this one instead up until a deal was broken and this was the top hatchet. It was also a ceremonial hatchet and the blade was dipped in gold and cleaned, and the wood/leather handle replaced with a glossy iron and thick embroidered fabric. Even after WW1 civilians worldwide used it for cutting wood and camping, which it was perfect for obviously. It was sold until 1934 when the Raging Sands company was destroyed when their headquarters in Germany was taken over by the Nazi’s. (No Offense) even today it is still sought out, despite being rare. A normal one goes for about $1,000 mid condition and a golden ceremonial one for WW1 generals goes for about $15,000 in mid condition.
