Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt ll
The fairchild republic's greatest aircraft
History
The fairchild republic A-10 Thunderbolt ll, or warthog, is a close air support (CAS) aircraft designed in the 70s that was designed as a tank buster during the cold war.
The Design
The a-10 was built around the massive GAU-8 Avenger gatling gun that has a fire rate of 3,900 rounds per minute, and is so powerful that it cant fire for more than 3 consecutive seconds because of the recoil. Around the pilot is a titanium bathtub meant to protect the pilot from any small arms and other ordinance. As a whole the aircraft is very robust and can survive 100s of rounds of small arms fire and can still fly. High mounted, fuel efficant, engines give this aircraft even more survivablity as the engines are higher up on the fuselage.
The A-10s purpose
Originally designed as a CAS aircraft to combat any russian invasion during the cold war, the A-10 was never able to fulfill this task as no invasion from the russians happened, and was in danger of being fazed out of service. In recent times the aircraft has be very successful on its role with the war on terrorism in the middle east, supporting ground troops.

Builders Note: So about a year ago now, i made another A-10, and it is garbage compared to this beauty! Its not as detailed as i wanted as frame rates were very bad, around 5-8fps, so a few things needed to be left out. She is a very fun flyer and over all a really nice aircraft. Controls are listed in game, and i hope you enjoy the A-10!
Original A-10 for comparison

If you hear the BRRRRT, you weren’t the target.
@PapaKernels oh ok
@SimplePlanesXML its as close to the blueprints as i could get it lol
One thing tho. The gear is acting kinda weird..
But overall great replica!
@FeatherWing i never use wiki, call it my schools fault lol
@PapaKernels
You just look at it's wiki page....
@FeatherWing mm ok. I looked up a-10 fuel capacity and all i got was something about testing a new 600 gallon tank, and i looked around a bit more and still didn't find anything. Thanks
@PapaKernels
The A-10C has a fuel capacity of 11,000 lb (4,990 kg) internally.
Hell yesh
@Kangy lol, yea
Damn that sucks,
Your time will come oh mighty @PapaKernels
@Kangy very true. Never had a device that could run more than 500 parts tho 😂
Ay nice
At least what you have now works tho @PapaKernels
@PapaKernels all good
@rexzion what?
@Kangy 2 problems, no space, and no money 😂. Plus ik what i would be getting if i could, and it runs at about 1k.
@PapaKernels fair enough
you can pick up a decent pc that can run like 2k parts for like $1.5k aud so yeah
uhh
@Kangy yea definitely, but it was getting way to laggy with just this so i just wanted to post it. Thanks for the criticism tho! Cant wait to get an actually good device to play this game on.
it's an improvement, still not as good as it could be
👍
@PapaKernels, my bad then. Nice aircraft by the way.
@Bellcat i also said to say burrt, and you did so read closer 😂
@PapaKernels, actually I did not request that tag, but thank you. Next time, check if there is a big letter “T” or not. If there is no letter “T”, he may not be requesting a tag. Hope this helps.
