Beriev A-40 (Prototype)
The Beriev Be-42 / A-40 Albatros is a modern Soviet ASW and transport aircraft. Only one plane was completed before the Soviet Union collapsed. It is a unique amphibious plane with two giant jet engines and two smaller support engines for water take-offs.
This is a replica of the unarmed prototype. There is another weaponized version.
Instructions:
For take-off from ground set full flaps, full trim up, full power. The plane will lift off at around 400 kph. Gear up, flaps to neutral and trim to 80%.
For water take-offs first be sure to retract the landing gear and close the bomb bay. Activate the support engines (AG1). Full flaps and full trim up. 100% power. Pull the flight stick back, that the nose of the plane stays above water. At around 450 kph wobble somewhat with the flaps up and down. Then you should lift off the water. Set flaps to neutral and deactivate the support engines (AG1 again). Set trim to 80% up and enjoy.
Controls:
VTOL for flaps
Trim to trim
AG1: Activate/Deactivate support engines
AG2: Nav lights
