Albatross S-10 WIP

Hello everyone! Getting back on simpleplanes and re learning how to play the game, here's my comeback plane :3 (idk why the bottom text is like that if it's in a box for you)

Fictional background with real-world comparison of characteristics:

The Albatross S-10 stands as a bold yet imperfect solution to its nation urgent need for high-speed reconnaissance. Designed as a proof-of-concept that was rushed into service, this single-seat, single-turbofan scout plane excels in its primary role—penetrating hostile airspace at a blistering 506 mph top speed—but demands exceptional skill from its pilots due to its unforgiving flight characteristics. The aircrafts inverted gull wings, split into distinct sections with high wing loading (47.9 lb/ft^2 and 44.7 lb/ft^2), prioritize reduced drag at high velocities over low-speed stability, resulting in a narrow margin between takeoff (147 mph) and stall (120 mph) speeds. This makes operations from short or improvised runways nearly impossible, restricting the S-10 to well-prepared bases (not modeled in-game).

The addition of upward-tilted canards (157.9 lb/ft^2) and outward-angled vertical stabilizers (101.4 lb/ft^2) further complicates its handling, offering sharp pitch authority at high speeds but becoming a liability during slower flight phases (not modeled in-game). While the 1.622 power-to-weight ratio ensures rapid acceleration and climb performance, the airframes 312-gallon fuel capacity is likely strained during prolonged high-speed dashes, limiting its effective range despite being classified as medium range.

Tactically, the S-10 thrives in high-threat environments where speed is survival, evading interceptors rather than outmaneuvering them. Its design echoes historical compromises like the SR-71 Blackbird or early jet fighters—prioritizing velocity over versatility. However, its operational niche comes with sacrifices: it cannot loiter over targets, struggles in adverse weather, and requires pilots trained to manage its aggressive aerodynamics. As it stands, the Albatross S-10 fulfills its niche role—a high-risk, high-reward asset deployed when no other scout can outrun the enemy.
