Paulus Model 8
2,113 Turdy1
8.3 years ago
Intended as a follow up on our highly successful Model 5, the Paulus Model 8 boasts a monoplane layout, combined with two engines, allowing an increase in performance. It also features six guns, a marked increase over the two on the Model 5.
Note: At this point we feel it is necessary to say that a nose high attitude must be maintained during takeoff to prevent water form submerging the bow of the aircraft, causing it to flip.

@Samwise Honestly, Trying to make it easier is going to be hard. The water against the hull means the lower portion of the aircraft faces a lot of resistance compared to a similar design on land. That's why they tend to flip the way they do. The generally raised engines probably contributes, but there's only so much I can do for that.
@Turdy1 Yes, the takeoff issue is easy to fix with the right maneuvering( I got it on the second try.) However, making it easier to take off might gather more upvotes( just trying to help :) ) Nice work otherwise, though
@Samwise If the trouble with takeoff is it pitching nose first into the water, the solution is to keep the nose above the horizon and reduce the throttle until it has cleared the water. The sluggish pitching may be the result of the "over-axis" thrust line from the engines, an inherent problem with my flying boat designs. I'll try to remedy this with my next design.
Nice little boat plane. Things to improve; has trouble taking off, pitches slowly.
