This aircraft is the first jet fighter in the United States capable of carrying tactical nuclear weapons. During the Korean War, the F-84 almost daily used bombs, rockets, and gasoline to attack North Korea's railways, bridges, supply centers, and marching troops. The F-84 fighter made its maiden flight on February 26, 1946, and began mass production in June 1947. It ceased production in 1953 and produced approximately 4450 "flat wing" F-84E (with a swept back airfoil of the F-84F). In addition to being used by the US Air Force, this aircraft is also provided to many Western allies
