Introduction

Surprise, not included in my list of works in progress is this, my fictional MKXI Lightning. This all started when i wondered what direction the lightning could have taken as an evolution, similar aircraft of the era evolved significantly so I looked around and re-aquainted myself with the SAAB Viggen FK-37 (2 seat version of the Viggen) and the F-16XL among others.

So I did start with my previous Lightning MK9 but im not kidding when i say that i think i have at least clicked on every panel, most have been edited, rebuilt, resized or repositioned slightly. I added the viggen arrangement for two seats along with a larger spine, repositioned fin and then added a brand new F16XL wing while re-jigging the undercarriage to retract differently. I completely rebuilt the cockpits, added pilots and the like. Oh and then altered the colour scheme to suit the new wing, spine etc. On top of this i spent multiple hours fighting the game and unattaching bits that got attached for no apparent reason.

The F-16XL had the ability to carry a stupendous amount of armament which i replicated to some effect on this, 14no. 500lbs general bombs along with 2 AIM 9 sidewinders and the lightnings 4no 20mm Aden cannon gives this aircraft some punch.

Controls

AG1 = turns on engines (85%ish plus = reheat)
AG = Brake parachute
AG7 = eject
VTOL dn = airbrake (allows for more than just on or off)
