The Gorilla mech chassis is a utility and transport system built for use in hangars and storage buildings. It transports heavy objects around the facility it is used in.
Has two arms - each arm has a shoulder and elbow joint that can rotate 60 degrees in either direction. The machine grips onto objects with its claws or uses the hook attachment.
Only a single person is required to operate the mech; this saves manpower as previously, large objects required small teams to move around. The pilot sits in a cabin reminiscent of early 21st-Century construction vehicles, entering through a door at the side.
A visual feature is that the upper section of the chassis is much larger than the lower section. This could have been what gave it its name.
A few years after the initial release, an unmanned variant was released, using the exact same chassis, but the cabin space was replaced with a processing unit and sensor array, among other parts. This variant would be controlled externally via a computer.
Attachments are available for the arms. Some examples are hooks, lights and additional cameras. Hook attachments can be mounted either forward or backward.
Roughly 500 Gorilla mech units across both the manned and ummanned variants were sold.
Unit Cost: $250,000
