Also, since the Spitfire isn't as large to be able to function well, expand the deck in width and same with the actual plane, just get rid of the VTOL engine on the plane. This is a suggestion

Or a long pylon set to a ACTIVATION key to attach the plane to the ship and a detached on the back at max power set on the same ACTIVATION key
