History
The MiG-1 was Russia’s first “streamline modern” fighter to replace the I-16. The MiG-3 has greatly improved performance from the MiG-1, increasing top speed, armament etc. The MiG-3 faired poorly against the Luftwaffe, wrongly predicting that air combat will take place up high. Production of the MiG-3 ultimately stopped in 1941 to spare up the engine for IL-2.
