The F-19A Sparrow was a fictional Lightweight Fighter originally meant to replace outdated F-16 Fighting Falcons during the later years of the Cold War, but were disregarded as new technology allowed the Falcons to remain in service. The United States did introduce them into service with the Air Force, though F-16s were used much more often. Still in service, the Sparrow proves to be a useful fighter when required, but the Falcons remain the superior Lightweight Fighters.
